Question · Paid ads

How fast should I increase my Facebook ads budget when scaling?

Answered by ·

The short answer

Slowly, in small steps. I lift the budget about 10% every two days for about a week, then look at what's happening to the cost per lead or cost per acquisition.

Big jumps shock the algorithm, and they muddy the read. If you double the budget and your costs climb, you can’t tell whether that’s the budget or the market. Small, regular steps let you watch your cost per result as you go.

After the week, check where you’ve landed. If the cost per result is holding, keep stepping up. The moment efficiency breaks, stop there.

Before you scale anything, make sure the leads are actually turning into sales. A high cost per lead can be fine if those leads convert well and the orders are big. I’ve pushed budget on a campaign with expensive leads for exactly that reason. The conversion rate and order sizes made the lead cost worth paying.
