Do I need to show my face in social media videos?

Asked by a business owner who finds talking to camera draining · Answered by ·

The short answer

No. People don't care. They just want the value of the content.

If talking to camera drains you, don’t force it. The voiceover can just be you talking over a static image, or a couple of statics. B-roll works too, and so do other people’s examples on screen. Faceless accounts go viral all the time.

It’s also a more efficient way to make content. Once a voiceover script performs, it’s easy to make five versions of it with different images behind each one, then test which one lands. You write the script once and get five videos out of it, and you never had to set up a camera.

Save face-to-camera for the days you’re feeling it. On the other days, the voiceover does the job.
